Artificial insemination can be performed using the sperm of either a partner or a donor. The procedure consists of first washing the sperm in a laboratory in order to multiply the chances of fertilization and remove any harmful chemicals that may cause complications for the woman. A chemical is then added to the sperm in order to isolate the most active sperm in the sample. This sperm is inserted into a woman's body once an ovum is released, increasing the chance of a successful pregnancy. Artificial insemination is recommended for couples who have cervical mucus problems, unexplained infertility or a mild male factor issue. It also allows women without a male partner to conceive using donated sperm.

Dr. Alfredo Garcia is a fellowship trained physician in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Garcia also served as the division director of reproductive endocrinology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/University Hospital for six years. Now he is the medical director of Tower Ferity Center, where he continues to deliver to his patients first rate fertility services. Dr. Garcia works closely with Dr. Henry Malter Ph.D., who is the scientific director and laboratory coordinator for the Tower Fertility program. He is a world-renowned scientist with 25 years of experience in reproductive medicine and human genetics, as well as an internationally recognized expert in the field of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). PGD is a highly advanced reproductive medicine technique that allows embryologists to genetically analyze embryos before they are implanted into the women's uterus. Dr. Malter developed and performed the first successful human clinical micromanipulation procedure leading to the birth of a healthy baby.
